Taste Paradise - Dim Sum - Singapore

I was looking forward to lunch and catching up with a good friend who I had not seen for  more than a year.  Since I had cravings for chinese or local food, she suggested Taste Paradise at Ion Orchard.  Sure - I was game to try a new place.  We were seated in a private booth, away from the main restaurant - quiet and perfect for us to catch up.   Even though it was away from the main area,  the service was still very attentive.

The dishes were all very good, their signature XO carrot cake was delicious but nothing all that special that I will specially go back for.  The xiao long bao was not bad but I think Canton-I does a better job of it.   The deep fried yam puffs are one of my favourites and were very tasty.  Their custard bun however,  was all warm and oozy and the perfect way to end the meal.

We sat there chatting for awhile and drank multiple cups of tea.  Too much garlic or msg?  Who knows?  It was a tasty meal.
