The Truffle House & Cafe - Brunch

We had walked past the Truffle House when it was under construction.  I was excited - truffles ...yummy,  a definite must try in my book.  The Truffle House & Cafe sure didn't disappoint.  They have a good variety on the brunch menu and we have since gone there  twice for brunch.  It is a small, cosy joint and depending on your luck, you'll be seated right away or you'll have to wait quite awhile.

We tried a couple of different brunch items and they were all good.  I like that they serve it up with a little bit of fruit which makes it feel healthy :)  The potatoes were crisp on the outside and melt in your mouth tender on the inside.  The eggs were all done just right too.  If you like truffles, then the wild mushroom truffle omelette will be right up your alley.   Before they even set down the plate of truffle omelette, you can smell the truffles... once it is in front of you, it is hard to resist.  You can taste the truffle in every bite of the light, fluffy and well done omelette.   Food heaven for me.

They do take awhile to serve up the food but that was last year, I'm guessing that they just need some time to iron out the kinks when they first opened.  Hopefully it is better now but that truffle omelette is so worth the wait!

Santi - Singapore - Gone too soon ...

I've been lazy about posting as I've been busy eating eating eating.   Yup I was back in Singapore again...so look out for more Singapore food posts.  I hope that you all had a good Christmas and New Year cos I definitely did.

Anyways, a couple days ago I heard that Santi was closing so I'm really glad that we made it for dinner at Santi in early Jan.  Take a look at the photos of the tasting menu - each dish was sublime and perfect, it was even better then I remembered that first time.   If I were still in Singapore, I would be angling for a reservation before they close in early March 2012.  All I can say is tivu.  It's definitely a loss for the Singapore dining scene.
